Obituary

EAST FISHKILL – Donald H. Hanna, 76, an area resident for 45 years and formerly of Hartford, NY, died on December 27, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Glens Falls on January 2, 1947, he was the son of Howard and Dorothy (Gibson) Hanna. Don proudly served our country in the US Army and had been employed as a hospital administrator of several local Hospitals, including Norther Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco.

Don was an active member of the East Fishkill community. He was a member of the Hopewell Reformed Church where he sang in the choir and served as an elder. He was also a member and board member of the East Fishkill Historical Society. Don was passionate about collecting antiques and enjoyed many years as an auctioneer.

On June 14, 1969 in Hartford, Don married Beverly Mercure who survives at home. He is also survived by his sons and their spouses, Michael and Tricia Hanna, Matthew and Pinar Hanna, and Jeffrey and Aimee Hanna; his grandchildren, Madison, Riley, Jameson, Colby, Brady, Kenleigh, Everly, Owen, Chloe and Isabella; his siblings, Jessica Fowler and Jon Hanna and his wife Carolyn; and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his brother Richard Hanna.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 2nd, from 4-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 3rd, at 11am at Hopewell Reformed Church, 143 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hopewell Reformed Church or the East Fishkill Historical Society.
