LAGRANGEVILLE – Donald E. Wisseman, Jr., 75, a lifelong area resident, passed away on October 22, 2023 at Albany Medical Center.

Born on March 16, 1948 in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late Donald and Ruth Jean (Wright) Wisseman, Sr.

He proudly served in the US Marines for over 6 years during the Vietnam War, and was the recipient of many commendations including a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.

Donald was a skilled mason, and owned and operated Wisseman Construction in LaGrangeville for many years. He was an avid fan of New York teams, especially the Mets, Islanders, and Jets.

Donald is survived by his children and their partners, Michael Wisseman and Jennifer Torres and Breann Wisseman and Christopher Morris; his grandchildren, Amber and Brian Wisseman and Kaiden and Kiera Morris; his sister, Mary Lou Duval and her husband John; his nephew, Ryan Duval; and his niece, Carrie Mancusi.

In addition to his parents, Donald was also predeceased by his brother, Barry Wisseman.
