Pleasant Valley – Donald B. Lane, 81, died on March 2, 2022 at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital.

Born in Ossining on August 24, 1940, he was the son of Joseph Robertson and Mary (Turner) Lane. Fortunately, Donald was retired for the last 15+ years. Don started his career as a printer for the Patent Trader in Mount Kisco for 25 years, after which he was a leading real estate agent for Serls Realty in LaGrange.
On June 22, 1962 at Blessed Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Donald married Judith Holland who survives at home. They raised their family in LaGrangeville, and then spent several years in Florida, before moving back to Pleasant Valley 14 years ago.

Donald loved sports, as a player, coach, and fan. He was a great athlete who played basketball, baseball, and softball. He shared this passion as a father and coach with his children and the community at large. He coached baseball and basketball for years in Lagrange, and was the Commissioner for LaGrange Little League baseball. He bled Dodger blue! After giving back to the community for many years, he began enjoying music, and as an old school listener, was so proud of his 436 CD collection. He also loved to bake (and eat his creations) later in his life, with brownies as his specialty. In recent years, he was a collector of Dollar Store sun catchers.

In addition to his wife Judy, Donald is also survived by his children and their spouses, Kim and John Vivalda, Brian Lane, and Timothy and Cynthia Lane; his grandchildren, Patrick Vivalda, Ashley Walsh, Amanda Lane, Anthony Lane, Dylan Lane, Carly Lane and Christy Lane; his great-grandchildren, Beckham, Karson and Teagan Walsh; his siblings, Debbie Bodnar and Kevin Lane; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 1-3pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a service at 3pm.
