WAPPINGERS FALLS – Donald Hall Mills, 91, an area resident since 1970 and formerly of Yonkers, died on July 19, 2023 at The Pines of Poughkeepsie.

Born in Abington, MA on January 26, 1932, he was the son of the late Helen Clark. Donald proudly served our country in the US Army during the Korean War. He had been employed as a truck driver with Teamsters Local 813 in Yonkers until his retirement in 1997.

Donald was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill where he was an active member of the choir. He was also known as the "Spoonman" for his talent in playing the spoons.

On June 11, 1960 in Yonkers, Donald married Anne Marie Chiaverini who predeceased him on October 31, 2018. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Albert and David Mills.

Donald is survived by his children and their spouses, Fred and Linda Jacobs, Danny and Janice Mills, Donald Mills, Rita and Rene Foucaud, Ricci Mills, Darren Mills and Roger Mills; his grandchildren, Nicole Cretara, Tyler Mills, Sarah Chilson-Purvis and husband Justin, Frank Backer and wife Kaytee, Alexandra Mills, Amanda Mills, Dylan Mills, Travis Mills, Justin Mills, Evan Jacobs, Jonathan Jacobs and Robyn Griffin; and his great-grandchildren, Michael Silva, Sariana Teixeira, Addison and Dominick Chilson-Purvis, and Raegan Backer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 10am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill.
