STORMVILLE – Doris Foley Duignan, 69, an area resident since 1977, died peacefully on November 5, 2021 at the Rosary Hill Home. She previously lived in New York City.

Born in Manhattan on January 8, 1952, she was the daughter of the late James and Teresa (Junker) Foley. She was a 1969 graduate Mother Cabrini High School in Manhattan and went on to attend Fordham University at Rose Hill in the Bronx, earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, with election to Beta Gamma Sigma, in 1973. She began her career with Coopers and Lybrand in New York, NY, before moving on to become the first female manager of Accounting Systems for Thomas J. Lipton, Inc. in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, where she had been employed for many years. On April 20, 1974 at the Fordham University Chapel, she married Kevin P. Duignan who predeceased her in 2020.

She was a parishioner of St. Denis Church. She enjoyed reading and knitting, a skill she passed on to her daughter. She is survived by her daughter, Emily Duignan Donovan and her husband Matthew of Stormville; her sisters, Catherine Leo, Jean Foley-Malvey and Evelyn Foley; her brother, James Foley; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by St. Denis Cemetery.
