Dorothy L. Garbarino, 86, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 2008 and formerly of Tarpon Springs, FL, died on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Elant at Fishkill.
Born in New York City on April 15, 1926, she was the daughter of Cornelius and Mabel Sorensen Brady. A graduate of The Julliard School, Dorothy studied opera and always enjoyed entertaining. She worked for many years as a nanny for several different families.
In 1949 in New York City, Dorothy married John Garbarino who died in 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Zippo of Hopewell Junction and Kathy
Spanevello and her husband Ronald of Rhinebeck; her grandchildren, Jeannine and Bill Castaldi, Lisa M. and Thomas Kinsley, Christopher Zippo and his significant other, Jessica Dickson; and her great-grandchildren, Dominic and Anthony Castaldi, Aidan Kinsley and Nicholas Zippo. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Madeline, Catherine and Beverly.
