Dorothy "Dottie" Lennon, 77, a Poughquag resident for 56 years, formerly of Yonkers, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center on Sunday, June 05, 2011.
After more than 20 years of service, she retired from the New York State Department of Corrections as administrative assistant to the superintendent of Fishkill Correctional Facility.
Dottie enjoyed gardening, butterflies and crocheting, and she often used her skills to make blankets and other items for her relatives. More than anything else, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Born in Yonkers on September 19, 1933, she was daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Jaeger Blair. On May 1, 1954, she married Albert Lennon in Yonkers.
Her soul mate of 57 years, Al, survives at home. Dottie is also survived by her children who cherished her, Craig Lennon & Melissa Lane-Lennon, Gail Bauer & Jim Conlee, Michael & Julie Lennon, and Lois Miccio; her loving grandchildren, Caitlin & Ian Lennon, Nicole & Mike Tucker, Shaun & AnnMarie Bauer, Tara & Tony Thomas, Ryan, Kathryn, & Connor Lennon, and Christina & Amy Miccio; her great-grandchildren whom she adored, Tyler, Kayla, Trevor, Rylee, Ashlyn, and Bria; her beloved brother & sister-in-law, Robert & Lorraine Blair; and many special nieces, nephews, and other loving family members & friends.
Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Retta Lykens officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
