Dorothy Maggio, a resident of Hyde Park, and formerly of Pennsylvania, Brooklyn, Riverdale, and Hopewell Junction, died on August 11, 2023, at the Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing in Beacon. She was 95.
Dorothy was born in Nanty-Glo, Pennsylvania, on July 9, 1928, to the late John and Rose (Fuliti) Simmons. Dorothy married the love of her life, Joseph Maggio in Brooklyn, New York. They went on to have 3 wonderful sons together. Her greatest joy was raising her children.
Dorothy is survived by her loving sons, Anthony J, Maggio, Joseph V. Maggio, Michael Maggio his partner Kelly Fuller, and her nieces and nephews, Bruce Bogard, TJ Bogard, Michelle Bogard Alexis Garvin, and Betty Toth.
She was an avid reader, exploring the libraries in every town where she lived. Design magazines and fiction were Dorothy's favorite. She also enjoyed time in her garden. Above all, her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends.
