WAPPINGERS FALLS - Dorothy Nora Minishi, 86, and area resident since 2007 and formerly of Harrison, died on December 15, 2016 at the Renaissance Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center in Staatsburg.

Born in Greenwich, CT on June 23, 1930, she was the daughter of Alfred and Jane Duffy Wilson. Dorothy was a family person who loved taking care of others. She was a good friend to everyone, and will be forever remembered as a special wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend.

On April 22, 1950 in Port Chester, Dorothy married James V. Minishi who predeceased her on March 22, 2000. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Sharyon Schwartzman.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Jane Minishi of Naples, FL and Geraldine Winiarski and her husband John of Wappingers Falls; her son-in-law, Jefferey Schwartzman; her grandchildren, Daniel Schwartzman, Rebecca Knoebber, Alexander Winiarski, and LCPL James Winiarski; her great-grandson, Francis Winiarski; her brother, Edmond Wilson and his wife Barbara; her sister, Margaret Virginia Clark and her husband LTC Elden Clark; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 10am to 12pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a funeral service at 12pm followed by entombment in Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.
