Obituary

Dorothy Torregrossa Poscich, 92, a resident of the Town of LaGrange , died peacefully at her home on January 4, 2026. She was a devoted mother of 8, grandmother of 10, great-grandmother of 10 and stepmother of 2.

Born on September 17, 1933 in Manhattan, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy (Squazzo) Williams. Dorothy graduated from School of Industrial Arts and had been employed as a graphic artist for IBM. Following her retirement, she enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Arizona.

Dorothy truly loved her entire family. She dedicated her life to caring for her special needs son, Louis. She took great pride in her home that she designed, remodeled and decorated with Joe. She enjoyed reading, the color teal, Barbara Streisand's music, anything Tom Selleck, Blue Bloods, and hosting family and friends.

Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband, Louis Torregrossa Sr., in 1980; her second husband, Joseph Poscich whom she was married to for 44 years, in 2024; and her son, Louis Torregrossa Jr., in 2022.

Dorothy is survived by her children and their spouses, Ed and Sandra Torrregrossa, Dorothy "Dodie" White, Lenore and Wayne Bailey, Terri and Mike Maphis, Mary and George Burkett, Stacey and Joe Angelo, Scott and Lori Torregrossa; her stepchildren and their spouses, Suzanne and Liam Glynn, Barbara and Robin Krulikowski; her sister, Jean DiPietro; her brother, Ed Williams; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Hudson Valley Hospice and the wonderful private care aides who provided loving care and support to Dorothy in her final days.

Calling hours will be held on Monday January 12, 2026 from 4- 7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday January 13, 2026 at 11am at the funeral home followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to wear teal in Dorothy's honor.

Memorial donations may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice or the Dutchess County Office for the Aging.
