Dru J. Herman, 65, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Palmerton, Pennsylvania to parents James and Dorathea (Weitrich) Herman. He married the love of his life Karen (McHale) Herman on November 12, 1977 at Immaculate Conception Church in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.
Like his name, Dru was one-of-a-kind. He was quick with a joke, a crazy yet ingenious idea, or a silly anecdote to suit the occasion. Dru grew up in the Poconos and loved spending time outdoors - camping, building a custom wooden porch, enjoying summer cookouts, and fishing. If you knew Dru, you knew he had some great "fish" stories, both literal and figurative!
One of Dru's greatest memories was of his time as a High School All-American Football Quarterback. His love of the game endured throughout his life and remains a part of his legacy.
Dru's interpersonal skills served him well while working for 30 years at IBM as an Executive Consultant and Learning Administrator. His sensitivity and insight extended into the animal kingdom, as well. He was a bit of an "animal whisperer."
Dru's number one priority was spending time with his family. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart Karen J. Herman; his children: Nikole J. Eutsler and her husband Eric, Joshua J. Herman and his wife Michelle Zheng, and Kyle J. Herman; his grandchildren Jake and Olivia; his loving and supportive brother and sisters, and many nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents.
Services are private and under the direction of McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction.
