Edith Van Buren's Obituary
FISHKILL – Edith Cecelia Harrison VanBuren, 96, a lifelong area resident, died on January 3, 2018 at the Pines at Poughkeepsie.
Born in Beacon on December 2, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William Harrison and Elsie Sarvis. She was raised in Beacon and graduated from Beacon schools. Edith married William VanBuren, who predeceased her; he was the love of her life and they shared many wonderful years together. She was also predeceased by her sister, Louise Harrison Adams and her brother, William Harrison. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Edith was loved by anyone who met her as she was a very gentle, caring, and loving person. She will be sadly missed. The family would like to thank the staff at The Avalon, The Pines at Poughkeepsie, as well as Hudson Valley Hospice for their care.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at Fishkill Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. Please visit Edith’s Book of Memories at www.mchoulfuneralhome.com.
