It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the forthcoming funeral services and ceremonies to honor the life of the beloved Edith Margarita Gritsipis, who peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the age of 75 in her cherished home.
Edith, born on August 28, 1948, to the late Jose and Edith (Lebron) Lugo, was a woman of grace and elegance. She devoted herself to her family and her work, excelling in Information Technology at Verizon within the telecommunications industry, showcasing dedication and professionalism throughout her career.
Known for her love of family and unwavering faith, Edith was a cherished mother to her children: Joey Devora, Dimitra Ribaudo, Angela Esposito, and Jennifer Perez. She found joy in her role as a grandmother, adoring and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchild, and leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. In her leisure time, Edith enjoyed cooking for her family, crafting every dish with care and love.
Edith will be dearly missed by her surviving relatives, including her daughter-in-law Girolama Devora, son-in-law Francis Ribaudo, son-in-law Michael Esposito, son-in-law Alex Perez, grandchildren William, Rita, Julie, Desiree, Matthew, Mikey, Matteo Paraskevas, Grace Edith, Valeska and David, and great-grandchild Kalani. She is also survived by her brother Frank Lugo and his wife, Rosa: sister Frances Griffin, and her husband, Jamison.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Paraskevas Gritsipis; her brother, Jose Lugo; her sister-in-law, Christina Lugo; her sister-in-law, Yolanda Lugo, and her grandson Giovanni.
A longtime member of St. Columbanus Church in Cortlandt Manor, Edith found solace in her faith and community.
Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc.,1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columbanus Church, 122 Oregon Road, Cortlandt Manor, NY on July 16, 2024, at 10:30 am. Entombment will immediately follow at Hillside Cemetery, 1033 Oregon Road, Cortlandt Manor, NY.
