Edna Neidig, 77, died peacefully on Holy Saturday, April 19, 2014 at her home. She went to Heaven to celebrate her 56th Wedding Anniversary with her husband.

Born in Yonkers on November 19, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Edna Ronan Lowery. An area resident since 1969, she had previously lived in Peekskill and Yonkers. Edna was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Hopewell Junction.

On April 19, 1958 in Yonkers, Edna married George S. Neidig who predeceased her on January 28, 2010. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Marie and Glenn Metzger of Wappingers Falls, George and Dawn Neidig of Hopewell Junction, Stephen and Amy Neidig of St. Albans, VT; her grandchildren, Suzanne and Michael Morgan, John and Janine Metzger, Karen Metzger and Brian Miranda, Thomas Metzger and Simone Herr, Sherry Metzger and Gary Caldwell, Alexandra Neidig, Derek Neidig, Nathan Neidig, Gina Neidig and Lonna Neidig; her great-grandchildren, Joseph Angot, Jack Metzger, Glenn Metzger, Trent Morgan and Kailey Miranda; her sisters, Alice Lemishak and Gail Pine; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Edna was predeceased by her grandson, Glenn Peter Metzger Jr.; her brother, Michael Lowery; and her sister, Marie Byrne.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday at the Church of the Resurrection, 182 Route 376, Hopewell Junction.
