Edward W. Byrnes, 62, a resident of Hillside Lake for 34 years and formerly of White Plains, died on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.

He was born on December 17, 1946 in the Bronx, the son of Edward J. and Mildred Styles Byrnes.  He served in the US Air Force and was employed as a Manager at IBM in Poughkeepsie for more than 35 years until his retirement two months ago.  Edward was a soccer coach for the East Fishkill Soccer League for more than 20 years.

On December 11, 1971 at Sacred Heart Church in Hartsdale, Edward married Teresa Lynch who survives at home.  He is also survived by his sons, Keith Byrnes of Frostburg, MD and Scott Byrnes and his wife, Laurie of Rotterdam; his grandchildren, Madison and Connor Byrnes of Rotterdam; his sister, Patricia Kirzl and her husband, Richie of Mahopac; and his nieces, Patricia Anne and Dawn Marie.

Callings hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
