Edward Michael Callahan, 36, a lifelong Dutchess County resident, passed away on March 30, 2021.
Born in Poughkeepsie on April 23, 1984, he was the son of Rosemarie (Yanossy) Callahan and the late Robert V. Callahan. He attended St. Mary's School in Fishkill and graduated from John Jay High School.
Eddie was employed in the grocery industry and worked many years for Hannaford's. His first job was stocking shelves at a local market. Due to his outstanding work ethic and dedication, he became a young manager.
Eddie had an affinity for problem solving. He had an enthusiasm for vocabulary and liked to study words and their meanings. When talking about life and his experiences, he would often use analogies. His favorite saying was, "It's all relative."
He enjoyed going for long walks, often snapping pictures of nature along the way. Sunsets were his favorite. He was an avid music lover and Green Day was one of his favorite bands. When you play or hear the song, "Time of Your Life," think of Eddie.
In addition to his mother, Eddie is survived by his sister Maureen Callahan; his sister Annie Laino and her husband Michael; his nephew Nicholas and two nieces, Olivia and Abigail. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Eddie, now all our boys are together again. We hope you had the time of your life! We love you and miss you.
