Edward F. De Chent, 75, died at his home in Fishkill on Saturday, January 9, 2016.
A longtime Yonkers resident, he was born on April 13, 1940, son the late Emil and Mary Margaret (Bowe) De Chent. In 1958, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1962. For 44 years, he worked for Asplundh Tree Expert Co. and retired as a foreman in 2010.
In 1965, he married Kathleen F. Vander Werff in Yonkers. Mrs. De Chent survives at home.
Edward is also survived by his son, Edward De Chent & his wife Maria of Putnam Valley, along with their children Amanda, Brandon, & Eva; his son, Eric De Chent & his partner Helena of Wappingers Falls; his daughter, Mary Pugliese & her husband Edward of Hopewell Junction, along with their children, Erik, Lily, & Shane; his son, Daniel De Chent & his wife Sonia of Wappingers Falls, along with their children Daniel Jr. and Devin; his siblings, Martin De Chent & his wife Cathy of Carmel and Kathleen Stefano of Fishkill; also many nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald De Chent and sister, Ann Marie Kelly.
Calling hours are from 5 – 8 pm on Tuesday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 11 am on Wednesday, followed by interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.
