Edward J. Ketina, 68, a local area resident for two years, formerly of Gouldsboro, PA and the Bronx, died at Castle Point V.A. Medical Center on Tuesday, March 6, 2012.
Born in Manhattan on August 3, 1943, he was the son of the late Edward and Edna Ketina. In 1960, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1962. Edward worked as a baker his entire life. He was a very charitable person, and often gave generously to many nonprofit organizations, especially St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn McArdle Ketina, at home; his stepdaughter, Valerie Valentine of the Bronx; his stepson, Antony Valentine & his wife Michele of Hopewell Junction; his stepson, Terry Valentine & his wife Grace of Hopewell Junction; and his seven grandchildren, Samantha, Sabrina, Alex, Michael, Luciano, Vincent and Brianna Valentine.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. Following calling hours, a memorial service will begin at 7:30 p.m. with Military Honors.
