Obituary

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Edward James "Jim" Pega, 68, a resident for 33 years, died on October 29, 2016 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital. He previously lived in Fishkill.

Born in Cold Spring on May 27, 1948, he was the son of the late Edward John and Inez (Heroy) Pega. Jim proudly served in the US Army. He retired in 2002 as a staff engineer from IBM in East Fishkill after 27 years.

Jim was an avid fan of the University of Alabama football team and the Boston Red Soxs. He enjoyed photography, as well as golfing, fishing, and bowling. He was a member of the Dalmatian Club of Greater New York and the Rombout Fire Company.

Edward is survived by his wife, Bernice (Dillon) Pega at home; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bernard Dillon and Joan Tomlin of Beacon, Thomas and Meg Dillon of Naples, FL, and Daniel and Cathy Dillon of Cold Spring; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his faithful companion, Sadie (Dalmatian).

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
