Edward Shepherd,
Jr.
November 16, 1964 – May 21, 2025
WAPPINGERS FALLS - Edward F. Shepherd, Jr., 60, lost his battle with his declining health on May 21, 2025 at Westchester Medical Center. He fought and persevered through so much over these past few years. But we find solace in knowing God decided it was his time to come home. He will be loved and missed dearly.
He was born on November 16, 1964 in Queens and was a lifelong resident of Dutchess County. An employee of the New York State Department of Corrections, he retired as Lieutenant from Fishkill Correctional Facility.
Edward was a loving and faithful husband, protective father, loving big brother, caring son and friend to many. He always put the safety and care of family and friends before himself. He had a heart of gold, a contagious laugh and smile. He loved to reminisce and laugh about old family stories and always had a funny joke to make everyone smile - even in the darkest times. Some may have known him at Lt. Shepherd or Shep, we knew him as Dad, Uncle Eddie, Gunk, Bear, and Bud.
Edward is survived by his wife, Denise (Telesco) Shepherd; his son, Chase Shepherd and his fiancé Chelsea Peterson; his mother, Arlene (Fields) Shepherd; his brother, Eric Shepherd and his wife Danielle; his nephew, Ejay Shepherd; and his niece, Gianna Shepherd. Edward was predeceased by his father, Edward F. Shepherd, Sr.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 27th from 2-4 and 7 - 9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at the funeral home followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
