Edward L. Washburn, Jr., 72, a resident of Wappingers Falls and previously of Beacon and Peekskill, died on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Yonkers on August 15, 1942, he was the son of Edward L. and Catherine Paul Washburn. Edward served our country in the US Navy and was employed as a purchasing agent at Georgia Pacific in Buchanan until his retirement in 1998. Edward loved talking on the CB and enjoyed carpentry. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
On August 25, 1965 in Croton-on-Hudson, Edward married Carole Orneck, who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Kristin Clarke, Sandra Graynor, Mark Washburn and Dana Caruso; his 10 grandchildren; and his siblings, Paul Washburn and Karen Pratt.
Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Saturday, November 8 from 2 - 5 p.m. including military honors at 4:30 p.m.
