Obituary

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Eileen D. Rowland, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 22 years and formerly of Yonkers, died on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence.

Born on July 2, 1957 in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Ann (Healey) Brady. Eileen married Sean Rowland in 1984. She is survived by her husband; their two daughters, Siobhan Rowland and her husband Frank Weissman of Poughkeepsie and Caitriona Rowland of White Plains; her brother, Patrick Brady of Myrtle Beach, SC; her nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members. She was looking forward to the birth of her first grandchild in September.

She was a dedicated parishioner at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. Eileen loved any time spent with family and friends, and she enjoyed scrapbooking. Disney World was one of her favorite travel destinations but she loved to travel anywhere. Her house was always open for simple get-togethers or celebrations of life's milestones. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and treasured friend.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
