Elaine Christine Torner, 62, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1979 and formerly of Brooklyn, died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in New York City on October 4, 1948, she was the daughter of Richard and Margaret Pitino Madison. Elaine attended St. Denis Church in Hopewell Junction and St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill.
On October 2, 1971 in the Bronx, Elaine married Goran Torner who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughter Jennifer Torner of Hopewell Junction; and her sister Janet Cugini of Jefferson, MD.
There will be no calling hours. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Rd., Hopewell Junction. Interment will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
