Elaine Terry Webb, 72, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1997 and previously of LaGrange, died on December 6, 2021, at home with her devoted husband at her side.
Born on October 11, 1949 in New Rochelle, Elaine was the daughter of John and Fenisia (Tarantelli) Vaccaro.
Elaine graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a BS degree in Education with high honors in the mid-90s .
Elaine was a very genuine person without an ounce of ill will for anyone. Her love of family was at the core of her being and was deeply felt year after year through creating delicious meals, maintaining and creating holiday traditions. Her Christmas fudge was a coveted family favorite, but don't plan on getting fudge the following year unless you returned your cookie tin!
Aside from her family devotion, Elaine was a talented gardener and could be found in her garden as much as possible. Strawberries were one of her favorites and when she was young, she ate so many her mother thought she had turned into one!
Often, Elaine would express that she was lucky to be born in October because Fall was one of her favorite times of year. Being out in nature brought her peace. In particular, Elaine loved how the leaves would change and how in winter, frost builds on bare branches like an enchanted forest.
As a child, she had a tree outside her house that magically turned all its delightful rainbow colors on her birthday year after year.
Elaine was a woman of courage, humility, and faith. It would not be a surprise to find her helping someone in need or being a voice of comfort no matter the time of day. She was a true angel on earth.
At this time, we celebrate her joy of reuniting with so many of her loved ones that have passed on, specifically her beautiful mother. Heaven is lucky to have her, and she will be deeply missed.
On October 12, 1997, she married her best friend, Michael Webb. Observed by many both within the family and without, the two were inseparable. Often, they could be found enjoying the local diners. Michael continues to love her from afar and looks forward to someday reuniting.
Survived by her children: David Avenius (Camille), Jessica Giangrande (Matt), Alex Avenius, Rachel Boettcher (Eric), Michael Jon Webb and 11 grandchildren. Siblings: John Vaccaro, Louis Vaccaro, and Pauline Kessler.
