Elaine Elgetha Wilson, 78, an area resident for 18 years and formerly of Jamaica, Queens, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica on February 20, 1945, she was the daughter of George Foster and Adina Smith. Elaine had worked as a registered nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, and belonged to several nursing organizations. She attended Grace Bible Church and Mount Zion Baptist Church.

On November 30, 1968 in England, Elaine married Linford Wilson who survives at home. She is also survived by her children, Ruth Jacobs, Barrington Foster and Joan McDicken and her husband, Robert; her granddaughter, Celena and her husband Daniel Adjei; her great-grandchildren, Joanna and Nathaniel Adjei; and her brothers and their wives, Robert and Sonia Phillips, and Winston and Veronica Phillips.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 11, from 10am – 12pm. There will be a funeral service at 12pm. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
