Eleanor "Ellie" Rokes, 67, passed away on January 18, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Ellie was born July 30, 1951 in Brooklyn the daughter of Michael and Eleanor (Norelius) Rayll. Ellie attended New York School of Performing Arts where she studied ballet and later transferred to Tilden High School where she graduated. She continued her education at Brooklyn College and then started her career at Gibbs & Hill an Engineering Company in NYC where she met her future husband Charles Brian Rokes whom she married in 1987. After they were married, they moved from Brooklyn to Hopewell Junction. Ellie last worked for Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn where she was the Executive Secretary to the President.

Ellie is survived by her loving husband Charles Brian Rokes, sister Mary Ellen DeChellis, her cousins who were like sisters to her Barbara Jean Herbst and Pat Moran, many nieces and nephews and life long friends Charles and Cathy Hopkins and John and Diane Szemelynec.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 10am at St. Columba Church. Interment will be Thursday 11:30am at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brooklyn.
