Obituary

EAST FISHKILL – Eleanor Silvestri, 73, formerly of the Bronx, went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2021.

Born in Munich, Germany on April 21, 1947, she was the daughter of Dominick Memoli and Ingeborg Spitaler. Eleanor graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School and proudly went on to become a hairdresser. She spent 12 years living in California before returning to the Bronx where she started her next career as a bookkeeper and front end manager at Waldbaum’s. She enjoyed cooking, baking, arts and crafts, dancing and most of all making people happy.

Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Louis Nunzio Silvestri. She is survived by her daughter, Alexandria Silvestri and her fiancé, Hasan Morales Sr.; her grandchildren, Felicity Muniz, Hasan Morales Jr., Amari Morales, Paris Muniz and Jelisa Morales; her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Dominick and Annie Memoli; and her best friend, who she considered her sister, Patricia Cuomo.

Eleanor, better known to most as Yaya or Ma, was a grandmother or second mom to everyone she knew. From the heartfelt words she shared to the delicious cookies she baked, she found a way into everyone’s heart. She touched so many with her kindness and left an everlasting imprint on their lives. Gone but never forgotten, her memory will live on forever.
