Eleanor Hayes Zanfordino, 75, of Hopewell Junction, NY and formerly of Mount Vernon,NY passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 after a long illness with cancer at the Wingate at Dutchess in Fishkill.
Born in Mount Vernon on May 17, 1936, she was the daughter of the late James and Ethel Brown Hayes. A 1953 graduate of A. B. Davis High School, she was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper for The Center For Preventive Psychiatry in White Plains, NY until her retirement. Eleanor was a member of the Greater Centennial AME Zion Church in Mount Vernon.
Eleanor is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joseph A. Zanfordino; their son, Daryl J. Zanfordino, his wife, Micki and son, Jazzy of Danbury, CT; siblings, James Hayes of Champlain, IL, Helen Graves of Greensboro, NC, Lois (Charles) Coleman of Mount Vernon and Ronald (Judi) Hayes of Lincoln, CA; sisters-in-law Louise Rodrick, Mary Marcou; brothers-in-law Anthony and Robert Zanfordino; and her many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, LaVerne Davis.
In accordance with Eleanor's wishes, no services will be held and her ashes are to be given to her family.
