Elias Rorris, a resident of East Fishkill, and previously of Chicago and Greece, passed away in his wife's arms on July 31, 2023. He was 69.

Elias was born in Greece on February 21, 1954, to the late Panayotis and Ariadne (Diamadopoulos) Rorris. In 1977, Elias emigrated to the United States, settling in Chicago.

He earned a doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University. During this time, he met the love of his life, Kelly (Douvlis), and married her in 1981, she survives at home. In 1982, Elias and Kelly proudly welcomed their son, Pete. Sadly, Pete predeceased Elias in 2016.

Elias had a successful career working for UPS. At the time of his retirement in 2013, he was a Senior Software Development Engineer in Paramus, New Jersey. In his leisure time, Elias enjoyed exercise, especially jogging, driving fast in his BMW, spear gun fishing, traveling the world, Greece was a favorite spot. Elias was a laid-back guy and will be missed by his close family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 3pm to 5pm, with a service at 4pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. 1089 Main Street Fishkill, New York. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 11am at Saint Basil Chapel, 70 St Basil's Road, Garrison, New York 10524.
