EAST FISHKILL - Elinor S. Gerardes, 77, passed away on December 22, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Harlem on January 21, 1946, she was the daughter of Elwood and Sadie (Woods) Rodwell. Elinor was employed as a Legal Secretary in Manhattan for many years.

On January 25, 1975 in Manhattan, Elinor married James Gerardes who survives at home. She is also survived by her sons, Russell Gerardes and Randall Gerardes and his wife Diana; her stepdaughter, Simone; her grandchildren, Justin and Kayla; her sister, Joyce Rodwell Miller; her sister-in-law, Mary L. Whitley; her cousin, Martin; and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and co-workers. She was predeceased by her brother, Elwood Rodwell Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 9-11am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The service will be held at 11am followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
