POUGHKEEPSIE - Elizabeth Lou Burchfield, 87, an area resident for over 50 years, died on December 19, 2024 at New York Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.
Born in Yonkers on March 9, 1937, she was the daughter of Alexander Cameron and Rena (Dyer) Porter. Elizabeth had been employed as a cook for New York State at the Wassaic Developmental Center. She was a member of the Freedom Plains Presbyterian Church. Elizabeth loved art, and enjoyed cooking, baking and watching political news. She was predeceased by her parents, her stepfather, James Porter; her husband, Clarence; her son, Donald; her sister Barbara Shook and her beloved dog Nessie.
A Celebration of Elizabeth's Life will be held on 3/9/2025 at 2:00pm at the Freedom Plains Presbyterian Church.
