FISHKILL – Elizabeth M. Cottle, a local area resident since 1986 and formerly of Westchester County, passed away at home on Friday, July 8, 2022. She was 89.
Daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Shiffert) Ahearn, she was born in the Bronx on June 19, 1933. Elizabeth was a parishioner of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fishkill and member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawthorne. Her hobbies included sewing and gardening.
On October 22, 1960, she married Owen B. Cottle at St. John's Tuckahoe Church in Yonkers. Owen survives at home in Fishkill.
Additional survivors include her daughter, Diane F. Geiss & her husband Joseph of Port Charlotte, FL; her daughter, Kathleen A. Stymacks & her husband William of Poughquag; her daughter, Suzanne E. O'Rourke & her husband Martin of Brewster; her son, Owen W. Cottle & his wife Cathy of Shallote, NC; her son, Donald B. Cottle & his wife Elaine of Stormville; her son, Christopher W. Cottle of Clemmons, NC; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents as well as her brother, Brian Christfield; and her siblings-in-law, Barbara & Curt Aldrich and Roger & June Cottle.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 5 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1400 Route 52, Fishkill, NY.
