PLEASANT VALLEY – Elizabeth Ellsworth, 74, a resident of Dutchess County for the past 25 years, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Kingston Hospital. She previously lived in Kerhonkson.
Born in Brooklyn on May 17, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha (Coon) Ellsworth. Elizabeth started her career as an executive assistant for the Department of Social Services in White Plains. Then she worked as an executive assistant with clearance for NASA in Mountain View, CA. Most recently, she had been employed as the Executive Assistant to John Beale at the Dutchess County Office for the Aging in Poughkeepsie. She often traveled for work, and attended many senior trips.
A parishioner at St. Kateri Church, she was also a member of the St. Denis Choir. Elizabeth loved reading and snowmobiling.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Louise Travis of Tillson and Lisa Stewart of Napanoch; her brother, her brother, Michael Ellsworth and his wife, Barbara, who was Elizabeth's "Sis", of Pleasant Valley; her grandchildren, Kimberly Travis, Joseph Travis, Shane Travis, Pierre Travis III, Miriam Sahler, James Sahler Jr., Emily Sahler, Michael Stewart, Eric Stewart, and Danielle Stewart; her great-grandchildren, Dillon Travis, Connor Travis, Aiden Travis, Julian Travis Reda, Hailey Travis, and Nora Travis; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was also predeceased by her son, John Annacone and her brother, Alfred Landon.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10 am at St. Kateri Church, 1925 Route 82, Lagrangeville. Interment will be in Claryville Reformed Church Cemetery.
