POUGHKEEPSIE – Elizabeth M. Roberts, 82, a resident of Beekman since 1970 and formerly of the Bronx, died on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by family.

Born in the Bronx on May 21, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (McNally) Rowlands. On June 24, 1950 in the Bronx, she married Harold C. Roberts, who survives.

Elizabeth was a Registered Nurse until her retirement in 1986. She loved camping and singing, and loved always having a dog as part of her family.

In addition to her husband, Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Victoria Marz and her husband Kenneth of Poughkeepsie, Regina Fortino and her husband Dennis of Weston, CT, and Roberta Roberts of Hyde Park; and her grandchildren, Diana Marz, Robert Marz, Lillian Fortino, and Joseph Fortino. She was also predeceased by her brother, Robert Rowlands.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 12 pm at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne followed by interment.
