Elizabeth G. Sperle, 88, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1991 and formerly of Yonkers, died on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Wingate at Dutchess.
Born in Yonkers, NY on November 27, 1925, she was the daughter of William and Evelyn Lavoie Widman. On June 6, 1944 in Yonkers, Elizabeth married Henry J. Sperle, Sr. who predeceased her on December 30, 1993.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Betty Schleicher of Hopewell Junction and Evelyn Pittore and her husband Joseph of Barnegat, NJ; her 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great, great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Henry J. "Skipper" Sperle, Jr.; and her sisters, Catherine and Georgiana.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 9am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Yonkers.
