Ellen P. King, 70, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1973 and formerly of the Bronx, died on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at her home.
Born in New York City on March 10, 1944, she was the daughter of William and Mary Walsh Duane. She attended St. Denis Church and St. Columba Church, and often volunteered at both the church and school.
On June 26, 1971 at Our Lady of Angels Church in the Bronx, Ellen married Ralph A. King, Jr. who died on June 18, 2004. She is survived by her children, Brian King of Hopewell Junction, Maryellen King of Brooklyn, Michael King and his wife Lorien of NJ, Joseph King and his girlfriend Samantha Sua of the Bronx, Christopher King of Queens, and James King and his wife Jennifer of Alexandria, VA; her grandchildren, Ryan, Aidan, Maive, William and Alexandra King; her brothers, William Duane and his wife Janice of Valhalla and James Duane of the Bronx; her sisters, Anne Duane of the Bronx and Kathleen Dillon and her husband Eddie of PA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Ellen was predeceased by her sister, Sr. Mary Duane; and her brother, John Duane.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
