Ellen M. Lifgren, 59, a resident of Carmel for six years and formerly of Mount Vernon, died on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at Northern Westchester Hospital following a short battle with cancer. Born in Bronxville on July 10, 1950, she was the daughter of Martin W. and Florence Premuto Lifgren. She was presently employed as a manager for IBM in Armonk where she has worked for the last 33 years. She was a parishioner of St. James the Apostle Church in Carmel. Ellen was predeceased by her grandparents, parents, several aunts and uncles, and her Godson, Jason. She is survived by her fiance, William Masi of Carmel and his family; her brother, Martin Lifgren and his wife, Loretta; her sister, Carol Ferraro and her husband, Michael; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues. Callings hours will be held on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Kateri Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville.
