Eloise Helen Groomes, 70, a former resident of Poughkeepsie, died on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Born in Brilliant, OH on Jan 10, 1943, she was the daughter of John and Exie Livingston. She worked as an Executive Secretary at IBM for 18 years. She was preceded by her husband David, of 41 years, and by siblings Aaron Livingston and Ruth Davenport.
Eloise is survived by her two children, Tonya Groomes of New Jersey and Martin Groomes of Poughkeepsie; her siblings Janet Graves, Donald, Ray, Hosa and Paul Livingston; and a host of nephew, nieces and many dear relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held in Steubenville, Ohio on December 27, 2013 at 1:00pm at Second Chance Ministries, 255 S. 3rd Street. Ohio Arrangements entrusted to Gregory-Martin Funeral Service and New York arrangements entrusted to McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 1:00pm.
