WAPPINGERS FALLS – Elsie J. Crouch, 91, an area resident since 1963 and formerly of Brooklyn, died on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in San Antonio, TX on September 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Paula (Hildebrand) Forsyth. Elsie had traveled the world with her husband, Garland Crouch, while he served our country in the US Army. Mr. Crouch predeceased her on December 7, 1984.

Elsie had previously been employed as a bookkeeper for Lehigh Lawns and Landscaping and Electra Supply. She liked spending time at All Sport Fishkill and the Southern Dutchess Bowl. She enjoyed attending classes at AC Moore and taking senior education classes at Ketcham High School. Elsie was very computer savy, and spent time on Photoshop, researching family history, and looking up recipes.

Elsie is survived by her son, Gary Eric Crouch and his wife Debbie of Mooresville, NC; her grandchildren, Bonnie Marie Zerbato and her husband Justin of Silver Springs, MD and Eric George Crouch and his fiancée Alicia Tuttle of Wappingers Falls; and her brother, Eric George Forsyth and his wife Miriam of Lakeland, FL. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Gail Louise Hoddack.

The funeral service will be held on Monday at 1 pm at the Poughquag United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Marion Hubbard followed by a reception at the church. Burial will be private.
