Elsie Jane Schultz, 93, a 27-year resident of Florida, formerly of Farmington, CT and Hopewell Junction, died on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Ridge Crest Nursing Home in DeLand, FL.
Born in Newburgh on July 29, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Delbert and Theresa Mahoney Quick.  On September 6, 1941, she married John Schultz, Jr.  Mr. Schultz predeceased Elsie on February 22, 1998.
For many years, Elsie and John owned and operated Schultz's Store in Hopewell Junction, and additionally maintained a concession stand at Sylvan Lake.  Elsie later worked as an administrative clerk for the State of Connecticut Employment Division for 16 years until retiring in 1982.  She was a member of St. Barnabas Church in DeLand, FL and formerly of the Church of the Resurrection in Hopewell Junction.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Beach and her husband Earl of Hopewell Junction; her granddaughter, Theressa Mulligan and her husband Mark of LaGrange; and her grandson, Derek Beach and his fiancé Laurie Fontaine of New Hamburg.
Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.  A funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. in the funeral home followed by interment at Beekman Cemetery.
