Vera Citrone, 92, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died at her home on October 1, 2012. She was born Vera Cassalia & grew up in Harrison. Before her retirement & move to Dutchess County, she was a long-time employee of United Hospital in Port Chester. In her youth, Vera was a professional, recorded singer. In later years, she sang at many church services & social functions, and she was often said to have "the voice of an angel". Vera was the widow of Marco (Mark) Citrone, who passed away in 2005. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Citrone & Deborah Caputo; two sons, William & Mark III; seven grandchildren; & a brother, Donald Cassalia. She was predeceased by nine brothers & sisters. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at St Gregory's Church, 215 Halstead Ave., Harrison. Interment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, 101 Mill St., Putnam Valley.
