Emma Del Toro, 91, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 15, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Born on October 13, 1932 in San Germán, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Ramon Rodriguez and Rosa Julia Vazquez.
Emma will be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a faithful woman who loved her family whom she raised to be giving and patriotic individuals. Her hobbies included sewing, latch hook, crochet, cooking, crossword & jigsaw puzzles, and crafts. She also loved to read and listen to music.
On April 23, 1949, she married Porfirio Del Toro in Mayagüez, PR. Emma was predeceased by her husband on October 13, 1985.
Survivors include her daughter, Emma Del Toro of Bronx, NY; her son, Porfirio Del Toro, Jr. of Connecticut; her daughter, Ruth Del Toro Mendez & her husband Edwin of Poughkeepsie, NY; her son, Jose Antonio Del Toro & his wife Milagros of Bronx, NY; countless grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Anibal Rodriguez & his wife Rosa of Cabo Rojo, PR; her brother, Ramon Rodriguez of Mayagüez, PR; her sister, Alicia Rodriguez Ramos of Mayagüez, PR; her sister, Nelly Oneida Rodriguez Valle of Mayagüez, PR; as well as several nieces and nephews along with their families; and many other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Emma was also predeceased by her daughter, Maria Del Toro (2006); her sister, Amparo Rodriguez Pabon (1983); and her brother, Efrain Rodriguez (2023).
Calling hours will be held from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
