Ernest Paul Wellington Alfred, affectionately known as "Bigg E", passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, May 19, 2024 in Scranton, PA. He was 44.
A lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley, he was born on October 6, 1979 in Cold Spring, NY and attended local schools. Seven years ago, he started his company, Bigg E's ETADK Trucking LLC.
Bigg E will be remembered as a wonderful husband and stellar father who cherished his family, loved his pets, and always went out of his way to make others happy. His hobbies included bowling and fishing. As a basketball enthusiast, he coached his kids' teams for several years and was an avid New York Knicks fan.
On August 28, 2002, he married Alicia Baxter at St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, NY. Alicia survives at home in Fishkill.
He is also survived by his children, Destinae, Trinitae, and Exzavier; his stepson, Keano; his mother, Judy Alfred; his sister, Andrea Nevers & her husband Joseph; his brother, Edward "Joe" Alfred & his wife Barbara; his brother-in-law, Jeremy "Jay" Baxter; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends. Ernie also leaves behind his faithful canine companions, Zeus and Enzo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Alfred; as well as two nephews, Devon and Anthony Nevers.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 30 at 11 a.m., with interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY. Following the burial, family & friends are invited to gather at Fishkill Bowl.
