FISHKILL – Estelle C. Tocchet, a resident of Fishkill since 1994 and formerly of the Bronx and Port Chester, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Taconic Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Beacon. She was 97.

Daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Chesney) Curtis, she was born in Port Chester on May 23, 1926.

On May 15, 1948, she married Hugo Tocchet at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Port Chester. She was predeceased by her husband in 1999.

Throughout her professional career, Estelle worked for the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants in NYC and as a bookkeeper for several companies including Gun Hill Lumber in the Bronx. She was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction and belonged to the Catholic Widows & Widowers of Dutchess County. Her hobbies included reading, cross-stitch and crochet. Estelle was also a lifelong loyal New York Yankees fan.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary J. Tocchet (Joanne) of Highland Falls and Mark J. Tocchet (Barbara) of Oreland, PA; her grandchildren, Danielle Casey (Michael), Jenna Kresback (Nicholas), Mark J. Tocchet, Jr., Christopher Tocchet, and Angelina Tocchet; her great-grandchildren, Emily, Connor, Lucas, and Avery; her sister, Lorrie Ciccarelli; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Estelle was also predeceased by her sister, Joan Kovachi; and her brother, Joseph Curtis.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 28 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 29 at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. Entombment will follow in the Community Mausoleum at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
