Fishkill- Eugene E. Tiger, a resident of Fishkill, NY for the past 40 years, passed away at home on January 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 85 years old.

Eugene was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 9, 1939, the son of the late Philip and Hilda (Burger) Tiger.

On November 29, 1958, he married the love of his life Lorraine (Williams) who passed away on July 4, 2013.

Eugene spent his career in the coffee industry, building and running stores for Coffee Collection out of New Haven, CT. Later, he and Lorraine fulfilled a shared dream by opening their own coffee shops, The Uncommon Cafe, in Hyde Park and Cold Spring, NY. These cafes were not just businesses but also places where Eugene's warmth and love for people created a welcoming community atmosphere.

Family was the cornerstone of Eugene's life. He treasured his time with his grandsons, who brought him immense pride. Eugene's unwavering love and dedication to his family were evident in everything he did-he always put his family first, providing a legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness.

His four-legged grandchildren, his beloved grand dogs held a special place in his heart, bringing him joy and companionship in his later years.

Eugene will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who were fortunate enough to experience his warmth and devotion.

Eugene is survived by his daughter Michele Sandman and her husband Brett, his son Jeffrey Tiger, his grandsons Jordan Tiger and Travis Tiger, his daughter in law Aimee Tiger and his grand-dogs Jax and Hudson.

In addition to his wife, Eugene is pre-deceased by his son Gary Tiger.

A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, January 28th at 11:30am at Fishkill Rural Cemetery. 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY 12524. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service, details to be provided.
