Evan Murphy's Obituary
RHINEBECK - Evan Christopher Murphy, 22, a lifelong area resident passed away on August 20, 2023 at MidHudson Regional Hospital.
Evan was born on August 15, 2001 in Poughkeepsie. He is survived by his father, Michael Murphy; his mother, Toni Wood Murphy; his siblings, Sarah Murphy and Michael Murphy, Jr.; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Evan was predeceased by his grandparents, Edward and Mary Murphy and Albert and Geraldine Wood.
He loved school, and had attended Abilities First, Rhinebeck schools, and Red Hook Schools over the years.
Evan will be remembered by everyone who knew him as a people person, and he loved flirting! He was an avid fan of country music and especially liked listening to Carrie Underwood. More than anything else, Evan loved spending time with his family and will be missed by all.
The family would like to thank the staff of MidHudson Regional Hospital as well as all the nurses, doctors, therapists, teachers, and aides over the years for their love, care, and compassion during his disability.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 – 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12 pm at the funeral home.
