Evelyn Mccabe's Obituary
Evelyn T. McCabe, 92, an area resident 2020 and formerly of Brooklyn, died peacefully at her home on January 29, 2023.
Born in Brooklyn on August 19, 1930, she was the daughter of Eugene and Agnes (Scharbach) Rogers. Evelyn had been employed as a secretary for the Visiting Nursing Sisters in Brooklyn.
On October 16, 1955 in Brooklyn, Evelyn married Joseph T. McCabe who predeceased her on April 26, 2008. Evelyn is survived by her sons and their wives, Joseph and Kathleen McCabe, and Richard and Caryn McCabe; her grandchildren, Ryan and Kerri McCabe, Bridget and Mike Soper, Kerry and Eric Fana, Caitlin and John Desgranges, Terrence McCabe and Meghan McCabe; and her great-grandchildren, Shea, Brett and Jack. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Eugene C. Rogers.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Calverton National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation.
