Evelyn "Evie" Grace Tully, a lifelong local area resident, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the Filosa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Danbury, CT. She was 92.
Daughter of the late William and Grace (Seaman) Cooper, Evelyn was born in Fishkill on November 18, 1927. Evie had many different positions throughout her life, but she is most remembered by her friends and co-workers, most of them the same, as the head housekeeper for the Holiday Inn in Fishkill for 25 years before her retirement. She was an avid gardener and later became deeply involved and passionate with Genealogy.
In 1946, she married the love of her life, George W. Tully in Beacon. They spent many years raising their family, gardening, and working on projects around the house together. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband in 1993.
Survivors include her daughter, Mona Riccio of CT; her son, John Tully of KS; her grandchildren, Darren Riccio, Sarah (Tully) White, Danielle Riccio, and Elizabeth "Libby" Tully; her great-granddaughter, Anna; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn was also predeceased by her son, George W. Tully; and her six siblings, Edward (Eddy), Florence(Flo), Clara, Lucy, Irving(Irv), and William(Billy), who all are now welcoming her with open arms!
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21 at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
