FISHKILL – Everett William Way, known as Sonny Way, a life-long resident of Glenham, passed away peacefully a Vassar Brother Medical Center on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. He was 83.

Son of the late Everett J. and Gladys May (Houghtalin) Way, he was born in Beacon on August 26, 1939. In 1957, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served our Country until he was honorably discharged in 1960.

Sonny worked as an Auto Parts Manager for Healy Chevrolet in Beacon. However, he found his passion as a Volunteer Firefighter. He was a Commissioner and Life Member of Slater Chemical Fire Company in Glenham and a life member of Lewis Tompkins Hose Co. in Beacon.

Everett is survived by his daughters, Laura Ostrander & her husband Alan of Oxford, MA and Cindy Fingar & her life partner James VanDyke of Red Hook, NY; his grandchildren, Walter Fingar & his wife Ashley of Ninety-Six, SC, Michael Fingar & his wife, Courtney of Greenwood, SC, Nicholas Ostrander & his wife Nicole of Grafton, MA and Mary Elizabeth (Emme) Ostrander of Oxford, MA; his great-grandchildren, Hayden Dennick-Fingar of Stone Ridge, NY, Caleb Ostrander of Grafton, MA and Cameron Ostrander of Grafton, MA; his siblings, Janet Broas of Glenham, NY, David Way & his wife Valerie of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sharon Hundley of Chelsea, NY and Linda Ramos of Glenham, NY; his former spouse and friend, Patricia Way of Beacon, NY; and nine nieces and nephews as well as many other loving friends.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Firematic Service and Military Honors will follow at 6 p.m. Inurnment will take place Thursday September 22 at 11:30am at Fishkill Rural Cemetery 801 Rt. 9 Fishkill, NY.
