WAPPINGERS FALLS - Felice "Phil" Colangelo, 80, an area resident since 1978, died peacefully at home on May 6, 2026 surrounded by his family. He previously lived in the Bronx.
Born in the Bronx on August 20, 1945, Phil was the son of the late Francis and Anna (Raffanti) Colangelo. He retired from Teamsters Local #202 and the Gap, Inc. after a successful career as a truck driver.
On August 10, 1968 in Bridgeport, CT, Phil married Eileen (Hajducky) Colangelo who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters and their spouses, Toni and Rick Scalici of Hopewell Junction and Kim and John Brady of Hyde Park; his grandchildren, Deanna and Gina Scalici and Fallon and Angela Brady; his sister, Rosemarie Carieri; his niece, Michele; his nephew, Frank; his brother-in-law, Stephen Hajducky; his sisters-in-law, Barbara Hajducky and Mary Hajducky; and his beloved furry companion, Ace.
In addition to his parents, Phil was also predeceased by his brother-in-law, Deacon Carl Carieri.
Phil was an avid bicyclist, often riding up to 30 miles a day. He had a great love of music and spent many an hour listening to Doo-Wop, Frank Sinatra, and Andrea Bocelli just to name a few. Watching The Sopranos was a favorite pass time as well . Phil was also an avid reader for many years. He took great pride in maintaining his lawn and spent a great deal of time planting trees. Phil was also a devoted sports fan, especially of the New York Giants. Above all, he will be remembered as a caring and loving family man.
Visitation will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Saturday, May 16th from 2 -4 pm with a service at 4pm.
